Felicidad Pasalo, 88, of Mountain View, died Dec. 7, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired harvester and factory worker at Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co., owner of Pasalo Anthuriums and a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Mountain View.
Friends may call at 9 a.m Jan. 29 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. service. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.
She is survived by sons, Peter (Evelyn) Pasalo of Keaau and Leroy (Wendy) Pasalo of Mountain View; daughters, Rosaline (Leland) Anderson of Mountain View, and Estralita (Ronald) Weidenbach of Mokuleia, Oahu; sisters, Josefa Allen of Kapolei, Oahu, Lorita Domingo of Honolulu, Connie (Cirilo) Carnate of Pearl City, Oahu, and Carmelita (Wilson) Bacio of Mountain View; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Doroteo “Danny” Daquep Jr., 66, of Pepeekeo, died Jan. 10, 2022, at his residence. Born in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines, he was a farmer, and also worked at Hamakua Sugar Co., Diamond Head Papaya, Mauna Kea Agronomics, King’s Court Pizza and Grill, and Island Fish and Chips.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Jan. 29 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service. Cremation will follow. Casual attire; no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Evalyn Daquep of Pepeekeo; sons, Doroteo Daquep, III of Pepeekeo, Croford (Nicole) Daquep of Hilo and Scott Daquep of Las Vegas; daughter, Dannielyn (Jereybe) Casil of the Philippines; brothers, Leopoldo (Sheila) Daquep of Paauilo, Antonio (Irelan) Daquep of Maui, Nestor (Lelis) Daquep and Ruben (Carol) Daquep of Hilo; sisters, Leonila Guelguel, Ester Daquep and Lorna (Robinson) Agdeppa all of Hilo; five grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Born March 1, 1945, in North Tonawanda, New York, he was senior systems analyst and communications specialist for the Internal Revenue Service, State of New York, Air China, and other government agencies, skilled woodworker and cook.

Alexander Watai
Alexander “Alex” Watai, 76, of Kainaliu, died Jan. 15, 2022, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Sept. 30, 1945 in Hilo, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for Kona Country Club in Keauhou, a former paddler and founding member of Kai E Hitu Canoe Club.
